Question:

Anyone know if PvP-only characters that are a year old get Birthday gifts?

Votes for:
- Headgear/Amour as Birthday gift
- Name Change
- Random rune/inscription
- *rare* Extra player slot
- Some kind of aura and/or emote
- Some kind of crazy Quest with some kind of reward
- Access to secret cow level

Votes against:
- more mini-pets
- gold

er.. What's with the name calling? My first suggestions was for jokes... although, I still think it'd be funny for a mini programmer.

Basically the mini's are losing their YAY-ness factor... They are all WAY to common and will continue to be so as peoples characters still turn one.. I mean if I REALLY want that bone dragon I can buy it or keep churning out characters till I get one for a birthday present (I have enough mules to have a decent chance).

They were an AWESOME first birthday gift, so why not make a second birthday even more special? Mini's can always make a comeback later, but right now they are just getting old the only ones that are even remotely special are the uber rare ones. Lets keep with the rarity cause it adds to the wow factor. Introducing more would decrease the wow and imo we've been losing to much wow already ;_;

Wow! great ideas! (Although there are problems with Chaos dye because the glowing effect is actually an alpha map on polygons. You'd have to change all suits of armor to have this work )

I Vote for:
Armor (I can dream can't I?)
Auras
Disguises
Cloaks (ie: new full-size cape)
spawnable (modable) unique weapons.

I'm cool with the mini pets but I would like to see them have a use. Perhaps they can run around and pick up your drops and act as a storage mule. Armor storage, a tab for collectable drops, holiday items, etc. would be a nice addition to them.

mini Doppelganger!!

If not a mini then something like D&D's deck of many things in form of a game of chance. You'd go to a special birthday island(accessible only once) and be given 10 game tickets. These games wouldn't count towards Gamer titles and no one would ever lose. Most of the prizes should be new items. Like a Super Rune of Holding, which would give bags 20 slots, or a Unique Token, which would be redeemable at a special NPC and would be good for one completely customizable weapon that can't be traded(it would be auto-customized for you) and could be named. There should be more than 1 game. One for minis for people who want them, one for platinum, and one for items and tokens.

I have enough minis to justify collecting more, so personally, I would enjoy (in no particular order):
  • a customized, non-tradeable Mini-Dral that I can dress
  • a slot in the inventory window that enables me to define a "standard" pet visible whenever possible, because quite frankly, having to click the little guy 4-5 times because of crossing map portals is a bit inconvenient
  • a little birthday bag to hold minis (and certainly not just 10)

I'd really rather not have mini-pets. I don't use them, so don't see a need to put more things in that I just sell. Not that the money's bad, mind you, just that it might as well be something I use.

Actually, I would really like specialty heroes, either one or a random set from which you get one.

Some choices:
Rurik! (I continue to want a Rurik to follow me around, especially if he gives notable quotes)
A lovely ranger named Gaile
Charr (any of the professions, although the elementalist and monks are great)
Dwarf (again, any profession - possibly even a notable character)

I think getting a Charr Shaman hero would be much preferred to a Charr Shaman mini-pet.

I dislike minipets. Honestly, adding them to the game really made it feel more immature, with people running around with "Mini Hydraz0rz Z0mG!11!!" Where the hell would my GW character find a miniature Hydra and tame it?

How about for your 2nd birthday, gives you a 10 item bag for your mini, so your mini could be a pack mule for your junk?

That would be great.
That would be cool, although they should only be usable in towns/outposts... sorta like the candy corn/elf elixers but permanent.

Lol! I'm currently trying to contact Gaile to bring that issue to her attention, though in a slightly more respectful tone.

I am not much for minipets, I have just kept them all on the chars that have gotten them, but there are a few creatures that I would love to see in minipet form.

-Smite Crawlers
-Bladed Aatxe
-Abominations (Flesh Golem, Dead Collector/Thresher, Fire Golem, Lesser Flame Sentinel)
-Dying Nightmare
-Obsidian Furnace Drake
-Eve

The Chaos Dye idea is nice, but to be honest, it would look garish on many many armor sets, especially some of the sets that are designed for subtle effect or beauty through simplicity.

Access to a specific weapon crafter that makes customized prestige weapons would be cool. I think above all I want something that cannot be traded, cause I think for birthday presents, /age should be more important than how much gold you have in storage. Maybe something similar to the Wintergreen weapon sets, but customized.

I want a cake (not as a main present) that add 20 points to sweet tooth (non-tradable) and when you eat it you get a mini firework display (not new year ones...good ones) and a little tune plays (something GW for copyright reasons)

If it HAS to be a mini..

Mini Ecto
Pet Rock

...

just would be...so cute

anyone knwo of the pvp characters do they get presents? i think they do cause they have an age but not 100% sure

I would vote for disguises as well and not minipets, it should be something cooler
and a age title would be cool too

extra storage would be somewhat unfair but i would love it =). the the top two seem fair.

but a bonus for the or a rare thing could be a mini gwen =) i want that. pretty much the only minipet i would want.
